I want renivate my attic. How do I get started?

Here's the deal: My family and I have this old dusty attic, stocked up with our Christmaus junk. If we moved all that junk, we'd have a brown room, hot in the summer, iced down in the winter, and old boards with holes all over the place. My invision, is to turn it into a place to get away to. To be alone, or work on a tabel, or what ever the accseries are. Like, my Dad could use a bar, and my sister could have her collections, and I could have my study (High school, collage prep). I have all the layouts done, just, how do I start renivating it?

  1. Go to the library or B&N and read books, or do online search on attic renovation. I know very little but just the same idea last night. You want to consider ventilation, insulation, wiring, critters, code, if the roof leaks, getting up there, abestos, etc. Hope this helps. You might consider planning (not necessarily doing) it as a school project and interview builders/remodelers. Good luck.
  2. Reinvate? Invision? Tabel? Accseries? Collage? Start by buying a dictionary. You either don't know how to spell words and/or don't know how to use them.
  3. I understand, I used to have an attic as a child that I could climb up to and play and look out to the world. Clean it up, maybe if money allows tape and bed the walls, lay plywood on the floor, then a tile, or linoleum or carpet even. Add some floor lamps, build your own desk maybe an old door across some "horses", ask dad they are easy to make. If you have a window then build a window bench underneath, make some curtains from material or sheets, go to the thrift store, yard sales for artwork, floral arrangements, all kind of goodies. Have fun!
