About invision power and vbulletin forums?

i want to make a website using 1 of these 2... the hosting site will be siteground.com... i want to know that when i buy invision power license for $149.99 is it all? is there a time limitation. will i have to pay again after a certain time? plz i need help badly....

1. I'm boggled why people want to buy Invision board... http://simplemachines.org It's free, it's the same thing as iPB, does the same thing, has add-on's, etc, etc. Just like every board. Don't waste your money on something that has a free alternative.
2. For Invision, you get the board version you purchase and six months of free updates / upgrades, after which you can run the last version you installed for the lifetime of your site. But you must pay for new updates / upgrades: http://www.invisionpower.com/community/board/license.html For vBulletin, if you buy the owned license, you get lifetime use of the version you purchase and one year of free updates. http://www.vbulletin.com/product_detail.php?full=1#license If you purchase the leased version, you can use the board for 1 year, then must uninstall it. http://www.vbulletin.com/product_detail.php?full=1#license I prefer the vBulletin board in terms of administration, features and power, but the Invision board is fine. In re: the suggestion of SMF or phpBB or other free boards, they simply don't work the same way as the boards you mention and therefore are not realistic alternatives.
